ABERDEEN - ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics. School of Engineering. The successful candidate will provide key support to the Engineering Laboratories, assisting research students and staff with experiments and providing day-to-day management of the laboratory, including safe laboratory practice. Practical skills and confidence in the use of instrumentation are required in addition to some computer experience. You will be able to work with initiative and independently and have good inter-personal and time management skills. The post is based in the Fluid Mechanics Laboratory but you will occasionally be required to contribute to work in other laboratories within the College of Physical Sciences.The required academic qualification is a HNC in an Engineering discipline, however, candidates with lower academic qualification but commensurate experience, who can demonstrate the requisite practical skills, (e.g. a recognised Engineering apprenticeship), will be considered.
