Job Description: Working within a team you will be tasked with providing timely, professional and courteous technical support on IT and applications issues to customers by phone and email. A key requirement for the position is not only the ability to help solve the customer’s problems, but also the ability to document the solutions, both to strengthen the internal knowledge database, as well as to provide customer-facing content for future queries. Skill Required: Between 2 - 5 years experience working with IT infrastructure, if possible as related to G&G applications, within a UNIX/LINUX client/server environment, covering: Installation, Configuration, Upgrades, Patching. Basic startup and shutdown. Backup and Restore (IBM-TSM ). Monitoring. File and Print Services. Network Services (e.g. DNS, NFS, NIS, mail, etc.). Security. Virtualization (e.g. VSE, VMWare, etc.). Clustering and High Availability Solutions. Performance Troubleshooting. Capacity Planning. Hardware - Server, Storage, Network. Installation and Configuration of third-party software. Basic knowledge of hardware diagnostics and failure analysis (workstations, servers, etc.). Operation of license management systems for G&G software portfolios (License Management, FlexLM). Knowledge and experience of ORACLE installations under UNIX/LINUX, with some basic DBA knowledge. In addition, knowledge of Microsoft OS (WS2003, 2000, NT, XP etc.) and PC tools such as Exceed, Visio, HP Service Desk would be useful. Some background in G&G applications support and/or Data Management would also be beneficial. Excellent Spanish and English communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills are required, as are creativity, and an understanding of Customer Service.
